Interviews: Post Season
In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Pop Punk band Post Season from USA. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name?
The Band name was from a Ken Griffey Jr. poster in the room where we were writing our first songs in. It was a photo of his iconic swing (the best swing in baseball ever!) and in the bottom corner it said MLB Post Season.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
I feel like we all grew up on very different styles of music but the one common thread was pop punk. We don't really consider ourselves purely a pop punk band and I feel like now a' days that genre has many avenues of sound. We just play what we want to hear.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Kinda, haha. We've had some changes in the roster until we found the right team a few years back. Everyone in the band has been part of Post Season's story before joining though. Chuck booked a house show for us in Philly on our first tour ever and now plays bass. Canyon even recorded our first demo for when we went and recorded "To Infinity and Beyond".
4. Each band member’s favourite band?
Bryan - Korn
Daniel - Eagles
Canyon - Bright Eyes
Chuck - Lifetime
Conor - Rage Against the Machine
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
I feel like it just kind of happens. There's not really a specific on this one.
6. Where was your last gig?
We played in Brooklyn at a venue called Gold Sounds. Great place, great people!
7. Where would you like to tour?
The bucket list spots for all of us are Japan and Australia.
8. Whom would you like to tour or play shows with?
The Roots.
9. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Butterflies. Every show, every time. You'd think it would settle, but nah! The bigger the shows get the more it's there. Honestly it's all part of it. But once the first note is played it goes away!
10. What bands have inspired you the most?
We pull inspiration from everywhere. Daniel listens to music like Lana Del Ray a lot. Bryan listens to Korn and Limp Bizkit. Chuck listens to Folk music and Hardcore. Canyon listens to La Dispute and Taylor Swift. Conor listens to Kendrick Lamar.
11. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
"Weird" is all in perspective. One time a crowd asked us for a "wall of death" and we said that's not really a thing we do but if you guys wanna, I mean we guess... then they actually did it when we started playing our next song. Kinda weird I guess but it was a wild show so that was cool!
12. What do you think of your fans?
To know people care about some music we wrote in our living rooms or on drives to go skateboard is insane and I'm forever grateful. We love them all, and couldn't express that more!
13. Anything to add?
You are never alone with music.
