Interviews: GRIEF
In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Melodic Hardcore band GRIEF from UK. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
‘GRIEF’ came from a feeling that was experienced at the time. It felt fitting to the music that we were creating.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
We were all driven to write music through our appreciation and passion for post-hardcore.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Andy (guitar), Chloe (drums) & Matt (Bass) knew each other prior to GRIEF. We met Reece (vocals) and Ryan (guitar) further down the line through friends in the music scene.
4. Each band member favourite band?
As a collective, some of our favourite artists include Being As An Ocean, The Cure and Tides Of Man to name a few.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Our inspiration comes from attending live shows whilst growing up. As we witnessed bands sharing their passion and their own work with others, this soon moulded the initial drive behind the start of GRIEF.
6. Where was your last gig?
We have yet to play our debut show. This will be supporting Dream State & Parting Gift at The Deaf Institute, Manchester on April 7th.
7. Where would you like to act?
We would love to take on the opportunity and tour the UK. Some of the best venues are here!
8. What bands have inspired you the most?
One of our main inspirations are Being As An Ocean. They have created a unique form a music which is what we hope to achieve eventually.
Many thanks
