Interviews: OCEANS APART

In this new occassion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Rock band OCEANS APART from the UK. Check out the interview and follow the band on their  FACEBOOK PAGE. 

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that? 

We were floating loads of ideas around, we all liked “Oceans” but did see a well sized band with that name already. So we ended up agreeing on Oceans Apart

2.Why did you want to play this genre? 

Full of energy, hard hitting songs with catchy melodies. Perfect mix to be able to let loose live.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

Yes, three members are brothers and the other two members have known them for a really long time.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Ash (Vocals) - Ghost

Leon (Bass) - You Me at Six

Kyle H (Guitar) - Bring Me The Horizon

Jordan (Guitar) - 30 Seconds to Mars

Kyle P (Drums) - Don Broco

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

Life in general is a big reason. So much happens in everyone's life, so you end up using life experiences in your writing. Then again, loads of different things inspire us to write about. We have a song about Troy the film haha

6. Where was your last gig? 

O2 Academy, Leicester supporting As It Is. What an incredible show

7. Where would you like to play? 

Reading Festival would be a great one (or any rock festival for that matter)

8. Who would you like to support? 

Bring Me The Horizon or Don Broco would be a big gig for us

9. Who not? 

Any support slot would mean a lot to us. But I guess, someone like McFly. We’d love it but not sure our heavy sound would go down well haha

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that? 

Yeah of course, I think that comes with performing. You get nervous before a show but use that to fuel your energy on stage. You’ll enjoy it more.

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

Bring Me The Horizon, Don Broco, You Me At Six all the typical bands we like haha

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

Our logo, so an alt model could blow it up on a canvas and do a photoshoot with just this covering her modesty, cool aye?

13. What do you think of your fans? 

Anyone that takes their time to listen to our music means the world. If there weren’t fans, they’d be no bands.

14. What do you think of our site? 

Looks professional, easy to navigate and lots of material covering various different genres, which is awesome!
