Interviews: He Comes Later

In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Deathcore band He Comes Later from Italy. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Well, we started to play together in 2010 and we couldn’t find a vocalist for our band. Our name refers to our singer, that never came.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

In the beginning, we played thrash metal, like Metallica or Megadeth. During the years we changed a lot our influences, turning into metalcore. In 2013 Andrea Piro, our singer, joined the band. His incredible growl led the band to a more deathcore sound; with his voice and our desire to experiment, we wrote 2 EPs and our first album “Cognizance”.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Me (Rommo), Vlanzo and Dani have been living in the same building since we were children. We grew up together and decided to play. The project started with no expectations, but we adopted the idea to create a more solid band; Cliff joined us some months afterwards and it started the official He Comes Later band. Piroz joined us only 3 years later, in 2013.

4. Each band member favorite band?

Rommo: It’s a complex question, I listen to many genres of metal and music in general. In this moment of my life, I think one of my favourite band is Shokran from Russia.

Dani: It’s hard to choose only one band, but if I had to I would say Fallujah!

Cliff: Really hard question. I can give you the name of the band that inspired me the most and that after meeting them, let grow in me my will to continue more seriously. Surely “As Blood Runs Black”

Piro: If I could I would listen my top 25, but in the past few days I’ve been re-discovering Degrade from Sweden, especially their full-length “Lost Torso Found”. It’s as awesome as it is disgusting!

Vlanzo: I will always answer to this question mentioning my beloved Breakdown of Sanity. Too bad they decided to stop making music.

They just are the perfect mix of all the things I like in metal music.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

In our first album “Cognizance” we wanted to explain a concept that meant something for us. We started to talk about it almost three years ago, in order to find a special theme. We decided to write a concept album about the near-death experience and the importance of the gift of life, so we read a lot about this topic and we tried to bring emotions into music.

6. Where was your last gig?

It was in Bologna (IT), our city!

7. Where would you like to act?

Our dream would be to play in Europe, and why not, in the whole world, step-by-step.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Everyone in this band has a dream, so it’s impossible to give such an answer! We just want to play.

9. Whom not?

He Comes Later.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Yes, it’s natural to suffer from stage fright. I (Rommo) start to tremble when our intro starts to play before every show. I think that one of the best tips is to not look at the audience in the eyesend. Furthermore, you need to over practice in order to play totally relaxed.

I (Cliff) suffered from stage fright only for the first 3 or 4 lives. Now for me, it’s the most natural thing and I can totally say that the more people are watching us, the more I become keen and enthusiastic.

I (Piro) sometimes do feel a bit worried before going on stage, but as soon as I’m up there I realize it’s really all just about people looking forward to having a good time, and I’m already more relaxed.

Interacting with them, even jokingly, helps a lot as well. And as we start playing, I just don’t care anymore.

The first minute on the stage, when everything starts for real, the rush of adrenaline is something truly unique. It’s both scary and awesome. Only through the last 2 years, I learned how to truly enjoy that. (Vlanzo)

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Well, probably Make Them Suffer, Whitechapel, The Browning, Volumes,  and many others...

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

A great guy called Ju once bought our ep from Atlanta, USA and asked us to sign it. It was such a pleasure! It’s incredible how far yet close this made us feel

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are not so many, but we love you guys, wherever you are!!! You are our fuel.

14. What do you think of our site?

It’s beautiful to see a site like yours that gives the visibility to underground bands from every part of the world, thank you so much!!!

15. Something add?

Thank to Breathing The Core for the space given to us, it’s been a pleasure! If you want, go to listen to our album and say what you think about it! We would love to hear your thoughts! Love you guys!

¡Adiós!
