Interviews: Wishing Wolf
In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Rock/Pop Punk band Wishing Wolf from the UK. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
The name actually came from an EP Danny had written with his previous band. The EP was called A Wolf With a Wish. The name kind of always stuck.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
We all have a soft spot for this kind of music. We felt like after the pop punk resurgence it would be interesting to see if Emo would have the same effect. That and we've all always wanted to be in this kind of band.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
The majority of the band knew each other prior to joining the band. Everyone other than Kyle who actually became friends with the band through social media.
4. Each band member favorite band?
We love this question!
Danny - The Used
Moodie - Joji
Bessie - Polyphia
Jazza - I Prevail
Kyle - Fall Out Boy
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
I'm inspired by lots of things, by bands from the early 2000s, heartbreak, loss, friends and everyday struggles.
6. Where was your last gig?
Our last gig was at an awesome venue called MK11 in Milton Keynes.
7. Where would you like to perform?
I think a big dream for us as a band would be to play the venues we've seen our favorite bands. Places like Slam Dunk Festival and O2 academy would be amazing.
8. Whom would you like to perform with?
A band we all mutually agree are amazing is The Used. They are a direct influence for the band and it would be an honor to support our heroes.
9. Whom not?
Honestly, we'd play with anyone that will have us the only exception is Dead Restless from Northampton, those guys blow!
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
I think we all suffer a bit of stage fright, the trick for us has always been doing whatever it takes to play an amazing show. There is no better feeling than having an audience of people responding to you. What we're trying to say is by the second song we tend to loosen up a bit.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Taking Back Sunday, The Used, My Chemical Romance.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Jazza signed a pair of boobs once.
13. What do you think of your fans?
Our fans are absolute legends. It makes us so happy seeing the same faces at multiple shows. Like the people who came to our EP release show are still coming to shows now, and that's a level of support that keeps us going. As well as this we've noticed a lot of new faces. All learning lyrics and wearing our merch. We couldn't ask for a more supportive group of people.
14. What do you think of our site?
We honestly couldn't fault you guys. As a small local band, we appreciate company's like yourself that put bands like us out there. We think your website is an integral part of the scene.
