Interviews: Dancing Flame

In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Hard Rock/Heavy Metal band Dancing Flame from Brazil. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that? 

We worked hard to get this name. We had a big list with so many names and we were going crazy with that.

So, we decided for Dancing Flame, the same name as one of our own songs. A different name. I really like this name.

2. Why did you want to play this genre? 

It was a natural choice. I've liked Rock since I was a kid. That's the style we love to hear and love to play it too.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

Yes and no.  I didn't know anything about Raphael and Murilo before they joined the band. Both are great musicians and very good people. I knew something about Adriano but we never had a chance to talk before he joined the band. We knew each other in 1997 and we've worked together since that time. He used to come to our shows before he joined us.

Adriano Oliveira (vocals) – Black Sabbath

Emerson Mello (guitars) – Deep Purple

Leonardo Necas (guitars) – Deep Purple

Raphael Martins (bass) – Iron Maiden

Murilo Mansur (drums) - Angra

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

I can tell that everything that happens around us and happens around the world can be inspiring for us: movies, tv news, newspapers news, a book, a picture, everything. This new album will get so many different feelings and different colors.

6. Where was your last gig? 

Brazil. For this year we're planning some gigs out of the country but nothing is 100 percent confirmed yet.

7. Where would you like to act? 

Europe and Japan for sure.

8. Whom would you like to feature with? 

That’s a hard question… Playing with the guys  from Deep Purple would be a dream for me. Iron Maiden too. There are so many bands that I wish could play with us. It's really hard to decide.

9. Whom not? 

I don't think about the bands I don't like. I would not know how to respond this question.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that? 

Never! We love it being there.

Do what you love and you will never have problems. If you don't love what you do for a living it's better looking for something new.

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

Like I said before, so many bands inspire me. All classic bands from the '70s and 80's - Golden age from Metal and Classic Rock.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

Oh man!Really hard this one! I don’t remember…Sorry!

13. What do you think of your fans? 

They're everything man. The reason that any band exists. We love to play our music for the people that follow us and care about us. That's a prize.

14. What do you think of our site?

It's really important for independent bands like us. Bands like us don't have an opportunity in the big media. You guys give the opportunity for all bands and I really appreciate that.
