Interviews: Deafs Door

In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Rock band Deafs Door from the UK. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Each of us had many different ideas for a band name as we spent a large part of 2018 writing and perfecting what we want to be and sound like! We were so indecisive we didn't even have a name when booking our first show so our Bass Player Tom suggested it on his way to work one morning and we all thought it was pretty cool.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We've all previously played in different bands and we all like to listen to various genres. Tom and Dean are very much into their punk, Sam our guitarist loves his classic rock and Andy our vocalist into rap/hip hop so we tried to merge these sounds together and found some good success with this judging by our recent feedback.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Three out of our four members grew up and went to school together, Andy joined the band through contacting mutual friends last year looking for a new project. So it's really cool to think in our twenties now we're still in touch and making music!

4. Each band member favourite band?

Andy (Vocals): Rage Against The Machine

Sam (Guitar): Hendrix

Tom (Bass): Pixies

Dean (Drums): Slaves.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We approached our songwriting with a common theme in mind, a mix of our own key life experiences, the mass dissatisfaction of today's modern world, the newly found sense of entitlement and being offended everybody has gained throughout recent times.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was our debut show at The Sunflower Lounge with Birmingham Promoters. The show was absolutely buzzing and we were really surprised by the number of people who came to see us as a support band.

7. Where would you like to act?

We would just like to continue playing shows with the hope of getting bigger and bigger as we go.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I think the dream for all four of us would playing with rage against the machine but we are happily playing with any bands really just want to play with as many bands at as many different shows as possible.

9. Whom not?

Anybody that’s a prick.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Have a few beers before you go on stage, but not too many

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

As mentioned before each member of the band seems to have their own influences but I think a band that sticks out for everyone is Rage Against the Machine 12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? We had a drunk try to slap the lead singer at our last show and the leady signer (Andy) kicked the guy off stage without stopping singing midway through a song.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We really appreciate everyone that comes to watch us play and we hope they continue to do so.

14. What do you think of our site?

I think it is a great place to find new bands both big and small and it is great that you guys give a platform for unsigned bands to get their names out there.

Our next Show is at the Flapper in Birmingham on 27thJuly with a couple bands called Deaf Ballons and headwired. Also, we are in the process of releasing our second single and we are excited to produce another music video for it.
