Interviews: Death Note Silence
In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore/Deathcore band Death Note Silence from Canada. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
We wanted something without signification
Our name doesn’t have anything related to the series Death Note. At that same moment, Death Note was popular in Europe but we never thought it would become that big. We just felt that the words Death-Note and Silence were a portrait of our style. (Deathcore and breakdown)
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
We wanted to do heavy metal but the production and the theatrical approached was something important to us. A mix of trash, metalcore, and deathcore was perfect for what we wanted to do.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Yes and no, Pete knew Phil and Ben.
Pete started with Ben which was playing the drum at the moment. Phil has added a little after. Ben took the vocals as soon as we found David as a drummer. Ju Dery has been added as a bassist after our first tour.
4. Each band member favorite band?
Pete: Parkway Drive
Ben: Whitechapel
Phil: Periphery
Ju Dery: Lamb of God
David: Dimmu Borgir
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Everything from punk rock to black metal through metalcore, deathcore, Hardcore, posthardcore.
6. Where was your last gig?
Rimouski (Skatefest with Barf)
7. Where would you like to act?
Everywhere from the smallest places full of people to the biggest stadium ever! Haha
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Parkway Drive , thy art is murder, whitechapel, lamb of god
9. Whom not?
Hummm... rappers??? I mean, every time it is horrible.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
If you have fun doing it, I don’t think you will fear to play in public. If it is, maybe the pressure is too high. You need to remember why you are doing it.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Our latest album, we have been influenced by Parkway Drive, thy art is murder and whitechapel a lot.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Nothing in particular
13. What do you think of your fans?
They are the reason why we are doing this. They are the reason why we grow, we push our limits, the reason why we are unable to stop.
14. What do you think of our site?
That’s really nice, sponsorship, Spotify playlist, information on promoters, that is a nice place for musicians and bands in order to benefits from visibility.
15. Something add?
Check our facebook page and our YouTube page for music. Share as much as possible! Encourage your local scene and remember that small bands are as big as Other bands, it is up to the fans to make it big!
