Interviews: Small Town Saviours

In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the  Rock 'N' Roll band Small Town Saviours from the UK. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Good ones are hard to find and we’ve got to credit a close friend (King BB from Ska-Punk Rebels ‘Bandits!!’) for coming up with it!

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

For one pure and simple reason….the love of rock n’roll!

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, three of us (Lance, Carl & Skinny) played in The Black Bullets. Frank (Bassist) I have known for a long time & we’ve also played in bands together in the past.

4. Each band member favorite band?

Lance: The Beatles

Carl: AC/DC

Frank: Guns n’ Roses

Skinny: Blink 182

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

What; the list is endless; love, hate, anger, passion…. Who; anyone that provokes the emotions above

6. Where was your last gig?

Rock n’ Roll Cabaret in Camden. It was cool if not slightly surreal mix of burlesque and rock!

7. Where would you like to play?

Download, Koko, Shepherd’s Bush Empire….any of those would be a dream!

8. Who would you like to support?

The Wildhearts, Gunfire 76, Supersuckers, Wednesday 13, Danko Jones, Bullets & Octane.

9. Who not?

The Wombats, 21 Pilots, Stormzy

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Lance: At times yes, especially when I started singing in this band from just being a guitarist in The Black Bullets. I’d say don’t panic, try not to overthink things, just feel it and let the music do the talking!

Skinny: Picture your heroes on stage, try to get yourself in that headspace and remind yourself why you wanted to be in a band in the first place. It’s like a rollercoaster, once you’re locked in you’re in for the ride. Enjoy it & each time will get easier.

Carl: I thought I was nervous once but it turned out I was just having one too many energy drinks

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

The Wildhearts, Backyard Babies, Guns n’ Roses.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Sadly nothing that weird at this stage…..only the normal guitar picks, setlists, and photos…..Let’s see what the future brings though!

We love them!
