Interviews: Them Fixes

In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the  Rock band Them Fixes from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We spent MONTHS trying to find a fitting band name and almost settled on a few. I even did graphic design for them. But as we were sitting around a table at band practice one day we decided to start the discussion and a common band we enjoy came up. Them Crooked Vultures. We liked the idea of using "Them" instead of "The" for a band name because its very uncommon. One of our songs from a previous project was called Fixes and it popped into my head and thus Them Fixes was born. We stewed on it for about a month and I whipped up a logo and it stuck like glue.

2. Why did you want to play this genre? 

Shawn and I both share the joy and fun of writing and performing high energy, and fuzzed-out rock music. I wanted to couple that with grunge style vocals that are both melodic and catchy but aggressive when need be. We like to keep things raw as well.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

Yes! We've known one another since high school and been in many bands together over the years!

4. Each band member favorite band? 

Dustin: Queens of the Stone Age 

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

My Grandfather is a huge inspiration to me. He worked with his hands his whole life and I too want to dig in the trenches of a different kind. But overall there is a fire that lives within me that calls out. I love writing and performing.

6. Where was your last gig? 

Edwardsville, IL. We played a house showdown in a basement and it was insane and a ton of fun.

7. Where would you like to act? 

We'd love to get out to the West Coast for sure and hit the Desert Scene.

8. Whom would you like to feature with? 

Royal Blood, Queens of the Stone Age, Red Fang, Crobot, Fu Manchu

9. Whom not? 

We are pretty open minded honestly haha! Probably just anyone who wouldn't fit with us stylistically

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that? 

Maybe back in the day but the shakes usually fad after the first notes are struck. Now that is turned into excitement to perform instead of fright and that would be my best advice to beat that. Turn it into positive energy.

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

Jimi Hendrix, Queens of the Stone Age, Thrice, KISS, Royal Blood

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

This is a super flattering thing, but I was asked to sign one of my pics at a show for someone. Not necessarily weird, but maybe a little weird for me at this time haha.

13. What do you think of your fans? 

We absolutely adore our fans. We are nothing without them!

14. What do you think of our site? 

Absolutely love the depth and variety of your site! There's definitely something for everyone!
