Interviews: Confessions Of A Traitor
In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore/Hardcore band Confessions Of A Traitor from the UK. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
Confessions of a Traitor comes from the idea of being able to become a better person. Redemption from your actions and your flaws if you admit and identify where you went wrong. Moving forward positively.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
We all love heavy music with a blend of melody, however, we never set out to sound like a specific genre. We write what we like the sound of and enjoy playing live, pushing our message of positivity.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Some of us did, the rest met online initially. Then when we started to play shows we met more and more people who wanted to help the band grow, Jacob joined us from a band that we started out supporting when we first formed.
4. Each band member favorite band?
Stephen: Being As An Ocean
Seb: Northlane
Jack: Gideon/ while She Sleeps
Tony: After the Burial
Jacob: Wage War
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
The music from other bands we have toured with, people we meet places we have been and our own personal experiences.
A lot of it comes from our family and close friends.
6. Where was your last gig?
We played a festival in Oxford, England called Rabidfest. It was a crazy show!
7. Where would you like to act?
Japan, America, China, and Australia
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
I (Stephen) personally would love to feature with Wage War I can't stop singing their songs at the moment, fantastic band.
9. Whom not?
I’m not sure Taylor Swift would appreciate my vocal style.
Though it would make for an interesting tour.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Yeah, our first few shows and when we supported Architects. We were so scared! (More excites though) if you channel it in the right positive way it helps your performance.
It’s something to look forward too and it helps you stay focused. After you play/ sing the first note all nervousness disappears!
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Parkway Drive & As I Lay Dying just bands that have worked tirelessly and relentlessly through thick and thin and it’s just amazing to see them both at the top of their game with fan bases that will support them through anything.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Not asked me but given me. The first time through Russian, we played an old cinema in Voronezh.
After the show, a lady approached me with a bag and in the bag was a bible, a fridge magnet, and a cookie.
13. What do you think of your fans?
We love all of them for the support that have given us over the years, their patience in waiting for our album to come out as well. We wouldn’t be anywhere if it wasn’t for them
14. What do you think of our site?
It’s a fantastic platform for artists to gain recognition and discover new music.
15. Something add?
Stay happy, stay positive and thank you for your time.
