Interviews: LEVANIA

In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the  Gothic Metalcore band LEVANIA from Italy. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?    

We owe our name to a Yiddish word, in fact Levania means Moon in that language. it was spontaneously born from us, one night after rehearsals. It was a full moon that night

2. Why did you want to play this genre?  

Elena: I grew up rocked by the voice of Sharon den Adel, so I think it was a natural way to express myself.

Richie: Because is strong, heavy and catchy

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?  

Elena: No, I know only Richie, and I make pressure to put him in when the last guitarist left the band.

4. Each band member favorite band?  

Richie: I don't have a favorite band, I listen to many bands, but in this period I love Lacuna Coil

Elena: I listen to every kind of music, in the most recent period I listen to trance dance, neo-folk, and also, a lot of Heavy metal. My spirit guide in music is always Bruce Dickinson, but in these genres, I used to play Lacuna Coil above to everybody

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?  

Elena: I know it sounds weird, but I take inspiration from my everyday life, and from teaching, and from the idiosyncrasies of contemporary life.

6. Where was your last gig?  

Our last gig was on RocK the Castle Festival. It was simply amazing. it was our first big festival, and we love it, and love hit that stage. Our next gig will be on Frov Fest in the Czech Republic... it will be another big fest, so we can't wait to go there!

7. Where would you like to act?  

We would like to act in several states, especially in America, and northeast Europe, also in Russia. for the gigs.. of course... WACKEN!, but also 700000 cruises of metal

8. Whom would you like to feature with?  

We would like feature with Cradle of Filth, not even Dany, but the whole band. And also Lacuna Coil! I'd like a feature with Melissa van Fleet, or Aurora

9. Whom not?   

Everyone is welcome to feature with us! 

Richie: every experience of featurette is good.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?  

Elena, yes I suffered a lot from stage fright. in the first part of this adventure, because of an old member, I was in big trouble. One in particular always made me feel bad, criticized me in every way possible and for everything on this earth.. so I can't able to hit the stage and due to my job on it.. I was petrified every time. I don't have any tip to beat this problem, despite.. choose your friend. Listen every

11. What bands have inspired you the most?  

It may seem repetitive but, the band that inspired me the most are the lacuna coil. They are the first Italian metal band to become great in the world of music. For this reason, they will always be an inspiration, also because they are always one step ahead

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?  

The weirdest thing a fan asked me is.. going with me on White Island and sing for me Yellow submarine..!

13. What do you think of your fans?  

Elena, what I think about our fans? I think they are absolutely lovely. I knew a lot of very beautiful people! Like Gaut Terving, or Mirko Fora, or other beautiful people!

14. What do you think of our site? 

I think !breathing the core! is one of the most complete and important sites in the underground panorama. and also the site with the largest band proposal in the panorama, now. For us being on your portal is important, bringing our gothic core on breathing the Core is a great opportunity and a great honor. We hope to be able to make our gothic core feel to many new possible fans
