Interviews: TALES OF THE TOMB
In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Death Metal band TALES OF THE TOMB from Canada. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
Why we choose the name Tales of the Tomb is because we felt that it represented exactly what we were going for. We are retelling the stories of people who have died in horrific and terrible ways. Almost as if we are bringing their story back from the grave.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
All being fans of extreme music and death metal in particular. It was natural for us to choose to play this genre.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Yes, Trez and I played in a metalcore band here in Edmonton together before Tales called These Colours Don’t Run.
4. Each band member favorite band?
Trez - The Contortionist
Corey - Dying Fetus
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
The music we listen to was really what pushed us all to start playing instruments. These other bands would be our biggest inspiration to making music.
6. Where was your last gig?
It was quite a while ago now. It was a local gig at our scene’s local watering hole for metal, The Rendezvous Pub.
7. Where would you like to act?
Anywhere and everywhere we can. The band would really like to do a tour of Japan sometime in the future!
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Bands that we listen to ourselves are always fun to play with. There are also a lot of local bands like Protosequence, and Valyria to nap a few, that we enjoying playing with.
9. Whom not?
I wouldn’t say there is a band we would not want to play with. But it's always awkward being the only metal band and an indie music showcase.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
A lot actually. Everyone in the band has there one taste in music. The biggest band to inspire the creation of Tales was Macabre of course. We do take influences from all genres, not just metal.
13. What do you think of your fans?
They're all awesome people who support the band and all its endeavors. We could not ask for better supporters of the band.
14. What do you think of our site?
It's a great place to find new music and get deeper info on albums and bands you like.
15. Something add?
Thank you for interviewing us! Check out our upcoming EP Volume Two: Mendacium coming out Sept 27 !
