Behind The Artworks: A Primitive Evolution - Becoming (2019)

All of our album artwork is actually done by our drummer Stu Dead. He's been running his own art and clothing company Playdead Cult for 20 years now and his art really reflects his experience.

It's been a great collaboration working with him for some many years and I feel his vision always connects with the vibe of our work. For this cover, we wanted to create something otherworldly. A lot of this album is conceptualized around the thoughts of spirits, aliens and the end of the world so Stu wanted to create an image that might tie these concepts together. What we have is some sort of totem of a creature that denies our reality. Is this beast from another dimension or the depths of hell? ... We're not really sure, but it's terrifying and sort of sexy at the same time.
