Interviews: Brincle Rain
In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Djent/Metalcore band Brincle Rain from South Korea. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
Brincle Rain means the underwater icicles which form in calm seas of polar regions when the air is much colder than the water. Warm ocean water freezes into very dense, salty ice plumes which sink to the ocean floor, spreading and killing organisms it touches. Our vocalists came up with the idea to use it as our band's name when he was watching the National Geographic channel. It sounded so cool and the phenomena gave us a feeling of inevitable desperation which is main theme of our music. Thus, we all agreed to choose the word as our band name. You can find us at the top of the search result when you search it on Google because we are the very first artist having the name.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
In our opinion, this genre, metalcore, stimulates the essential emotion and instinct in human. Also, we can get some kind of bliss that we can never get from other genres. That's why we play metalcore although it is not such a popular genre here in Korea.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
The guitarist JS Lee and the bassist KJ Shin came across with each other and started playing music together in the school band when they were in college. At some point, they had decided to form up a band outside college and looked up for other members through the Internet. After the several failures, they found the vocalist SG Park and the other guitarist SI Han. By the end of this June, we got fully lined up as YW Nam joined us as the drummer.

4. Each band member favorite band?
All the members share much of their musical interest and taste in common, though it comes slightly different to each person. We do love a lot of bands that play metal and core, such as Architects, Crystal Lake, The Dali Thundering Concept, Dealer and Alpha Wolf.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
We get inspirations from the pain and agony in our lives. We try to sublime the pain by writing songs and lyrics dealing with it. What drives us to do so is that we hope that our music help listeners overcome the pain and agony.
6. Where was your last gig?
On August 18th, we played in 'Mullae Metal City' show held at GBN live house, South Korea. Plenty of bands being on stage were mostly based on metal. It's always a pleasure to feature with the local bands playing a similar genre.
7. Where would you like to act?
First, we would like to be on stage in rock festivals in Korea. That's one of our short-term goals. And we also dream of being abroad to play shows by any chance.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
We'd like to feature with all the local bands. Here we have lots of talented bands and players in Korea, so please give us attention not just for K-pop but K-metal too.
9. Whom not?
We think that every band has its own charm, so it's very hard to answer the question. lol.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Chug a drink and have fun!
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
There are lots of bands we like, but we think that Architects and Crystal lake are the closest references.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Someone sent us a message by Facebook one day. He asked us, 'Can you guys play Djent on a piano?'. That was the craziest one. For we don't even have a keyboard player.
13. What do you think of your fans?
We can work on musical stuff because we have those who support us. We just took the first step out to the scene so every single one of our fans means much importance to us.
14. What do you think of our site?
Breathing the Core seems fabulous for it introduces core music from all over the world. When we found ourselves on Breathing the Core, we were literally surprised. We thought 'We are just about to upload our EP on Bandcamp and we are at the Far East, but they found us already. 'These guys do their work so hard!'
15. Something add?
Our EP is being released on the streaming platform all over the world since August 29th. You can enjoy our music on Spotify, Bandcamp and Apple Music.
