Interviews: Comb The Desert

In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Hardcore band Comb The Desert from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The name of the band landed on the spot. We were watching Spaceballs while writing our earliest material. There was no decision process or anything like that in deciding.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Punk and hardcore was what we all grew up playing in earlier groups. It’s natural to us as fans and musicians.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yep. The majority of our band was in several projects together. Justin and Kelly went to high school together so they go back even further.

4. Each band member’s favorite band?

Joe is really into mewithoutYou. Mike's favorite band is Cave In. Justin is a huge fan of Every Time I Die and Kelly is big into Thrice.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Random bouts of Anger/Frustration really motivates Mike to lock in with riff. But also listening to a new record or album brings motivation to the writing process. Joe's lyrics are kept secret and they always surface when the time is appropriate.

6. Where was your last gig?

We recently played a pretty wild metal festival in Reading PA called Kohlfest. We recommend checking that out next year.

7. Where would you like to act?

Performing small shows in basements are just as gratifying as large venues but if we had to pick one probably Irving Plaza in NYC.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We'd like to perform with Every Time I Die again if given the chance.

9. Whom not?

Creed? Hahaha

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Absolutely.

We just try and focus on each other while playing. Especially when playing in front of large crowds. Plus it does look good.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Classic bands like Sabbath, Minor Threat and Nirvana, really helped shape us for what we do now.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Lol. Buddy's cell number from Senses Fail!

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are unique and not all cut from the same cloth. Some are your average metalheads and hardcore dudes. But mostly they're people who we hang out with even go to each other's parties and family gatherings. We have a very close circle with our real fans. 

14. What do you think of our site?

Seems like you guys do an amazing job giving unknown artists a platform to be discovered. And what's really cool is you showcase artists from just about every genre. We appreciate that.
