Interviews: Heart Of Jordan

In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Extreme Metal band Heart Of Jordan from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Ideas were tossed around one day many moons ago. Annoyance and mental fatigue were well underway when our singer, Preston, groaned what would become our band name. Long story short, the name relates to a personal relationship and how, more broadly, love can drag you down or lift you up. 

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Everyone in the band are metalheads at heart. We write what we love.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Preston and our drummer, Andrew, were friends and bandmates a few years prior. The two guitarists, Eric and Elijah, have known each other for 10+ years and have played in previous bands together. Eric and Andrew have also played in a band previous to HOJ. It's a tangled web.

4. Each band member favorite band?

All-time???

Eric: Kiss.

Preston: My Chemical Romance.

Elijah: Soundgarden.

Andrew: Pantera.

Alfonso: Deftones

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We're always recording ideas as the come to mind, mostly on our phones; either at rehearsal or while practicing individually. Preston writes most of the lyrics and draws inspiration from personal toils and pleasures of life on earth.

6. Where was your last gig?

08/16 at The Intersection in Grand Rapids Michigan as part of a Michigan metalcore showcase

7. Where would you like to act?

UK or Germany. We would love to do a short Euro tour!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Chris Cornell

9. Whom not?

That's a tough one. There is something intriguing about every artist that might persuade us to perform with them.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Yes, but trust us, it gets better! Once you realize the audience is there to see YOU perform, because you're amazing, let that really sink in. Snap out of it and put on a show your fans will love.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Killswitch Engage, Slayer, Deftones, Tool, Soundgarden, Pantera, (Early) Metallica

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing too weird yet. But, a male fan asked if we would sign his chest.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We. Love. Our. Fans. We are really nothing without them.

14. What do you think of our site?

Very clean layout. Very informative. A great place to discover your next favorite emerging band.
