Interviews: MAYVE

In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Pop Rock band MAYVE from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

It’s a respelling of the name, Maeve. It’s actually the name of my younger cousin. I liked the way it sounded and thought that it would make a good band name.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I guess it’s a reflection of my personality

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes and no. Joe and I have known each other for a long time and our mutual like for music kept us together. Over the years, we formed lots of different bands. We became friends with Mike when we were looking for a guitar player. Everything kinda clicked after that.

Nick - Saito Yuki

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

My cat Ellie, he speaks to me in a secret language.

6. Where was your last gig?

Velvet Lounge right in our hometown

7. Where would you like to act?

Royal Albert Hall

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Miley Cyrus

9. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Being on stage was something I used to worry about when I was first starting out but it started to feel more natural as I did it. So to anyone starting out, if you love it, just keep doing it. You’ll be fine.

10. What bands have inspired you the most?

Talking Heads, The Smiths, The Cure

11. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Someone asked us if we wanted to go back to their apartment after our show to throw spaghetti and meatballs at one another. And we said yes, of course.
