Interviews: Ascending From Ashes
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Rock band Ascending From Ashes from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
We asked our friends and family and eventually got very lucky. Our friend Jamie made it happen. Thanks Jamie.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
We've always loved intense heavy music. It was an easy choice. But we've also incorporated softer ballads and bouncing pop music to our genre. Our new music, coming out in 2020, will reflect that.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Dave and Kevin are brothers so they've known each other before the band started obviously haha. They eventually started playing instruments very early in life. SJ was a solid drummer in high school band and became the solid foundation for the future of our music. Sean was the last addition to the band in 2007. He was involved with another local band and he wanted to try out other music with the Ricco Brothers.
4. Each band member's favorite band?
Our taste of music is ever-changing. But currently:
David - Periphery
Kevin - Thrice
SJ - Tesseract
Sean - Don Brocco and Poppy
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
There's plenty of bands that have inspired us to keep writing new songs. But the writing process seems to come from feeling. If we like the way it sounds and we are excited to play them live and record them, then we're doing something rite.
6. Where was your last gig?
We rocked out at the Hard Rock Cafe in Pittsburgh PA
7. Where would you like to act?
Our lead singer Sean is interested in acting if you're looking for a 6' tall bald bearded fellow
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Post Malone
9. Whom not?
Probably down to collaborate with anyone who is willing. Who also has over 8k followers on Instagram lol
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Sean gets very nervous when doing solo gigs. Having band members to back you up is the best way to get over the jitters. Also, a couple of beers helps.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
In the early days, Avenged Sevenfold was a big influence. Then heavier music like August Burns Red and Trivium made us heavier and riffier. Later on came Periphery and Don Brocco.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Sex in a backstage bathroom. Specifically asked for it to be in the bathroom.
13. What do you think of your fans?
Pieces of trash! JUST KIDDING! Can't thank our fans enough. We always love hearing from them and we love giving them free AFA stuff when we can.
14. What do you think of our site?
Thank you for featuring us on your social media and spreading the word of Ascending From Ashes. Keep up the good content.
15. Something add?
Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel and Spotify. We're always putting up new content.
