Interviews: Fecality
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Goregrind band Fecality from Ukraine. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
The band name FECALITY came absolutely spontaneously. We tied it with Mortal Kombat
video game. It was difficult to come up with something more ridiculous. The word itself caused
laughter.
Everything comes from some farcical dispute about metal genres and their exceptional seriousness. That conversation ended with come up three demo tracks recorded in 2010 by Slava (vocals). You can hear it re-recorded and released in a debut album Ganzolder On A Moustache as well. Demo records quickly spread across the network and received positive reviews from connoisseurs of the genre.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
After demos were made there was a wish to try play it live. First of all, Yurek was invited as a guitarist. Slava and Yurek played in a local death metal band called Subconscious Void a few years before. Than Yurek was asked to convince Alex to play drums as they were old friends. Alex is well known across Ukraine by his hardcore band Remorse. First bass player was Sergey and in 2013 Dmitry took his place. These guys are also well known in metal community of Chernihiv, FELICITY's native town.
4. Each band member favourite band?
It's really hard to highlight some favorite bands. There're to many and they are very different. But if we talk about one band for one band member, so Slava's favorite band is Ace Of Base, Yurek's - ABBA, Alex prefer Bee Gees, Dmitry is the most advanced in music, he likes Mo-Do.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Talking of inspiration - it's all about usual life. Ideas go by themselves. Just relax, look around and wait till it comes. There is enough of crap. Just add some humor and self-irony.
6. Where was your last gig?
