Interviews: Medusa Touch

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the  Rock band Medusa Touch from the UK. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

It's from a Film. The Medusa Touch starring Richard Burton & Lee Remick. A novelist who can make disasters happen through telekinesis.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

It was the music I was into as a young man. Started in pumk in 1977 then by 1982 needed something new. NWOBHM was rife and I fell for it hook, line and sinker.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

There was a guy who used to come round to the punk band rehearsals. He was really into Maiden, MSG and Scorpions. It was him who got me listening to that. I was overwhelmed by it. But the band as we are today, No, we didn’t know each other back in 1982.

4. Each band member favorite band?

Gogsy – Iron Maiden

Demy – Metallica

Bruce – Van Halen

Nige - UFO

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

It’s always current affairs. What’s on the news. There are some real cool stories always flying around that make the song writing easy. We have always written songs that way.

6. Where was your last gig?

In Glasgow, Scotland although it might be Edinburgh by the time this interview is published hehehe.

7. Where would you like to perform?

I would love to play Wacken festival. That is the pinnacle for me. Non stop Rock, with all the big names. 8. Whom would you like to perform with? Probably, the same bands from the favourite bands question above.

9. Whom not?

Tough question. I haven’t really come across bands that I wouldn’t play with because they are not nice people, bands tend to help each other out when they can. So, it would have to be playing with a band that is not in our genre and the audience would be split.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Maybe early days but not now. We’ve been doing it faaaaaar tooooo looooong hehehehe. As far as advice, it gets a lot easier the more you do it. So, get out and gig. There's always that thing where you can imagine your audience naked hehehe. Don’t know if that works tho.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

It’s the band who have that twin guitar vibe going. Harmony guitars and stuff like that. Maiden, Y&T, Wasp, Anthrax, etc there’s loads of them

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

I remember one guy asking for my shirt, I said it was the only one I had so he asked for a shoe coz I had two of them hehehe.

13. What do you think of your fans?

I have to say thank you to them for buying the merch and coming to the gigs. Without them there would be no point.

14. What do you think of our site?

Great, I love the way it's broken down so you can find the stuff your into, not just one rolling list.
