Interviews: Night Goat

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the  Noise Rock band Night Goat from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

It comes from a song by The Melvins. Since we play heavy, dark noisy music it just seemed like a good fit!

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We all come from a background in heavy music but none of us have ever really been in a noise rock style band. This was something we all were very interested in.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, we knew each other well! All the band members have known each other for years, from the local music scene in Canton, OH. We each bring a diverse piece to Night Goat

4. Each band member favorite band?

Chris - Samhain

Donnie - Mayhem

Dalin - The Jesus Lizard

Julia - Soundgarden

Bill- Fistula

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

The inspiration for our songs comes from things we have been through, witnessed or heard about. The aggressive, dark interpretations from the venom life spews.

6. Where was your last gig?

Frankie's Inner City in Toledo, OH

7. Where would you like to play at?

Slovakia, Canada, Germany or Romania

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

A dream tour would be opening for Neurosis, Danzig, The Melvins, or Whores, The Jesus Lizard... pretty much any band that we love...

9. Whom not?

Wouldn't care too much to open for mainstream bands or bands with huge egos. 

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Julia: I used to get stage fright at the very beginning when Night Goat started...but I've embraced the vulnerability and now feel very empowered by being able to conjure it all up and then leave it all on the stage.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Samhain, The Jesus Lizard, Birthday Party, Unsane, Sonic Youth, Nirvana, Black Sabbath, Melvins, Paw, Eyehategod, Dead and Gone... 12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? (Julia) To wipe up my makeup for me after we were done with our set..

13. What do you think of your fans?

We love our fans and those who "get" our band, the music and all the chaos it entails. For me personally(Julia), I love it when people are inspired and can relate to the loose cannon crazy train onstage...helps confirm for me to know I'm not alone in the madness of this world.

14. What do you think of our site?

We love it! I really appreciate that you guys are open to interviewing new and upcoming bands - that SUPER kicks ass! Love how the site is divided into all of the weird sub genres so you can look up what turns you on. Plus there's a TON of stuff on it to look up and read!
