Behind The Artworks: Ante-Inferno - Fane (2020)
The album’s theme explores the hidden reality of the world we, as humans, have trampled on and
sought to control. It explores the idea that those things we used to fear – sin, perdition, evil – are
very much real, and very much alive. And at the centre of it all, the fane: visualised in the artwork as
a house set in a barren, desolate, lifeless place. When I look at the artwork, I think of William Hope
Hodgson’s "The House on the Borderland”. The idea that this place is somehow a vessel to all of
time, space and eternity, reflects what I beheld and experienced as I formulated the lyrics.
