Interviews: The KillerHertz
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Rock band The KillerHertz, from Denmark. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
We needed a name, but didn’t have anything planned, so Thomas Trold and our former member
Tais came up with the name one night, after been searching for a suitable name through different
types of media.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
We came from different bands before The KillerHertz, such as Saturnus, Pitch Black and Morbid
Vision, meaning we mostly played trash and death metal. But after a few years break we were
eager to start a band together - and in the rock genre instead - We ́ve gotten older and slower ha-
ha
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
We have known each other since the teenage years, old neighbourhood friends starting a rock
band - There are only two members left from the starting period, Thomas Trold and Kent
KillerHertz. The two new spots are now filled in with Jonas Roxx on lead guitar and Jakob Nielsen
on bass.
4. Each band member favorite band?
There ́s a tons of bands and artists, but mostly classic bands and artists from the 70 ́s, 80 ́s and
90 ́s, such as Megadeth, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Kiss, Motley, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath,
Merciful Fate etc. - and the era of that time has had a significant influence on all of us, some of
the best albums are made in that period.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
We get our inspiration from everyday life in all its meaning - like love, expectations, breaking up,
people in general, who we are and so on...Death, life and love are mainly the subjects through
our songs, which most people can relate to. But whatever comes to mind and perhaps depending
on which emotional stage you’re in.
6. Where was your last gig?
Our last gig was last year in Jutland - we had two gigs for that weekend, drove about 500
kilometres in total... it was a very fun trip and a successfully weekend
7. Where would you like to perform?
We haven’t got a favourite venue, because there is so many out there that we haven’t tried out,
but a future venue could definitely be a Roskilde Festival or a Copenhell festival - A big outdoor
venue with lots people would always be a favourite place to perform.
8. Whom would you like to perform with?
Well - a concert line-up could be Metallica, The KillerHertz, Megadeth, Kiss and Iron Maiden
perhaps ha-ha
9. Whom not?
As long as it ́s not in a completely different way off genre, we really don’t have any bands we
don’t want to perform with
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Actually, none one of us suffers from stage fright - You always have that fluttery feeling in the
stomach, the adrenaline is high, maybe a little bit nervous, but not in a dominant way. Those
feelings give you focus and used as tools to give you that high peak performance.
A tip for beginners... Well practice practice practice and don’t overthink your performance, just do
and be in the moment... And the most important one... Enjoy it!
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
We have inspirations from bands such as Megadeth, Metallica and Volbeat.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Tuff one - Don ́t think there has been anything out of the ordinary.... we haven’t had any
experience with crazy fans yet ha-ha.
13. What do you think of your fans?
Having fans is just fantastic and they are much appreciated, and we would love having even more
of those guys and girls
14. What do you think of our site?
It a cool site, with lots of upcoming bands and lots of different subgenres - you have genres we
didn’t knew existed ha-ha
15. Something to add?
We are producing music videos at the moment - with four video releases within a month and a
half of each other, which means releases in January, March, May and June this year. At the same
time, we will release an EP album the 29th of May.
