Behind The Artworks: Abhorrent - Katabasis (2020)

The Katabasis cover was made by the Chilean illustrator José Canales. It was achieved after studying the different meanings that the word has, exploring the meanings that Abhorrent gave it in their lyrics, brainstorming and the image that represents the end of Western civilization.

The maximum icon of western society was sought, its degradation and collapse. It is the image of Christ defeated, rotten, tortured by the cynic modernity that allows itself to be swallowed and dissolved in the corrosive swamp of the world that it wanted to save.

Abhorrent has always used faces on its covers, human features leave the deepest and most lasting messages.
