Interviews: Abhorrent

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Death Metal/Thrash Metal band Abhorrent from Chile. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We were looking for a name that would describe our vision of the world. Humanity has not been very good with nature and with itself. We have plenty of historical examples and even in the personal interaction of each one. Abhorrent is the perfect name for that.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We are passionate about metal music and when we heard that wonderful mix of Death with Thrash we wanted to play it. Over time we naturally incorporated other things and got our own sound.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Richard and his brother Carlos went to the same school with Luis, add that the metalheads were not many at that time, so they knew each other. Several years later Rodrigo joined us, we already knew of some shows with other bands. Freddy is the new drummer, but he is the younger brother of Richard and Carlos, it is a family succession.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Freddy= King Crimson y Congreso 

Richard= Coroner y Fates Warning 

Luis= The Beatles y Slayer 

Rodrigo= Voivod, Death, Rush, Kreator, Led Zeppelin, Pestilence, Pink Floyd, Daft Punk, Tame Impala, Slayer, Van Halen, Cryptic Slaughter, Motorhead, Dorso

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

I: We have not been inspired by particular people, although there are despicable beings to spare to write songs. In general we are quite free to choose the themes of the songs, human concerns, religion, the environment, social or political problems, myths, fears and a long etcetera where evil cannot be left out.

6. Where was your last gig? 

Our last concert was held in a bar in Santiago de Chile called MiBar 

7. Where would you like to act?

We would like to play in many places, go all over the world presenting our music. If there is a place to mention, we think Wacken is a dreamed option. 

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Featuring at a concert with bands we admire would be great, of course with some that we have mentioned and that are still in force on the circuit. Kreator or Voivod are a good example.

9. Whom not? 

Definitely with bands that are not respectful with the public or with other bands, difficult to say a name. Nor is it our decision which bands invite the production of each event.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that? 

We have never had stage fright, nervousness yes and it is normal. To be well prepared to present each show, we don't think that there is another recipe. 

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Our favorite bands.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

We have not received weird things requests from fans.

13. What do you think of your fans? 

Our fans are people with good taste.

14. What do you think of our site?

We think it is a very professional site, with excellent information and committed to metal music.

15. Something add?
