Interviews: Dark Agenda
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metal band, Dark Agenda, from USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band
name, you planned it or came out just like that?
The idea for Dark Agenda came when we were
brainstorming ideas. We were thinking of
something that could represent our interests
and Dark Agenda had a nice ring to it.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
We didn't really pick a genre because we didn't
want to lock ourselves into a single sound or
expectation. Everything we write is just what
we feel and we just let it develop/evolve
naturally.
3. Did you know each other before the band
was formed?
Yep, most of us grew up around
Anamosa, IA. Jesse Albaugh (Lead guitarist)
Eddie Coyle (Rhythm guitarist), & Robert "Bob"
Dains (Drums) all played in a previous band
called Sinistir Mind together.
4. Each band member favourite band?
Bob - Trivium, Dope, Bullet for my Valentine
Jesse - Helloween, Testament, Slayer
Joshua - Alice in Chains, Type O Negative,
Pantera
Dan - Memphis May Fire, Monuments, Parkway
Drive
Eddie - Lazarus A.D., Exodus, Lamb of God
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Our love and passion for music is our biggest
inspiration. Most of our music is inspired by our
personal lives, things going on in the world,
Dark topics such as horror, hell and more.
Other times we're simply just speaking on raw
feelings and emotions.
6. Where was your last gig?
Our last gig was at
Spicoli's in Waterloo, IA where we played with
Sunflower Dead and Sons of Texas.
7. Where would you like to perform?
CBGB's if it was still around & Red Rocks Park
& Ampitheater would be a couple really
awesome places to say we performed or
somewhere out of the country.
8. Whom would you like to perform with?
It
would be a dream come true to perform with
Testament, Slipknot, Lamb of God, Megadeth
or any of our previously mentioned favorite
bands.
9. Whom not?
Ha ha Nickelback!
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage
fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat
that?
I Joshua did at first, at the time I had 0 shows
under my belt and we weren't even a complete
band yet. We had a couple opportunities
however I got super bad anxiety about it and
chickened out. However looking back we
weren't ready nor did I have the confidence in
what we created with our music yet. When
Eddie and Bob joined us in 2018 we practiced
about twice a week and our songs evolved so
much from there. At that point our confidence
grew more and we grew tighter as a band. My
anxiety about it was gone at that point. If I
could give any advice I would say practice,
practice, practice the more you do the more
your music will evolve and your cohesion as a
band will grow.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Joey Jordison formerly of Slipknot inspired Bob
tremendously. Alex Skolnick of Testament
inspired Jesse. Ryan Martinie of Mudvayne
inspired Dan. Layne Stayley and Phil Anselmo
were Joshua's biggest inspirations. Exodus and
Lamb of God for Eddie.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever
asked you for?
One time someone asked if
they could have Jesse's hat however it was a
pretty cool Archer Nation hat, so I don't blame
them. I used to think it was weird that someone
would ask us for our autographs because we're
just some regular dudes but that comes with the
territory I suppose. However, we're all about
weird so we will sign autographs all day and
maybe if you're lucky one of us will give you our
hat!
13. What do you think of your fans?
Our fans are awesome and their energy gives
us the drive and motivation to keep doing what
we do. The feedback we've received whether
its negative or positive has helped us grow and
we appreciate it all. We too are simply fans of
music before anything.
14. What do you think of our site?
We had a chance to check it out before the
interview and it's really cool. As an artist we all
appreciate what you guys do by showcasing
other artists and providing them another
platform to have a voice in this world.
15. Something to add?
We'd like to thank you
for the interview and showcasing us on your
site. To any and all upcoming bands stay true
to yourself and keep on practicing even when
things seem hopeless. Music is magical.
