Interviews: PECULIAR THREE

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Progressive Metal band, PECULIAR THREE, from Greece. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that? 

Well, “peculiar” as a word has a strange ring to it, also meaning “strange/special”, just like the ideas we like to put on our music and lyrics. Last, but not least, since we love pop culture and books, “peculiar” is one of Sherlock Holmes’ favourite words to use! And since we’re a trio... “peculiar three”!

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

All our influences led us here, it came out naturally!

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

We actually played together in a rock cover band for a few years before we form peculiar three.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Valantis’ favourite band is Blind Guardian, Panos’ is Rush and Paris’ is Iron Maiden! 5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Inspiration comes in all forms and shapes but usually the lyrics end up somewhere in the fictional plane!

6. Where was your last gig?

Peculiar three is a studio poject - at least so far! But all three of us play a lot of gigs every year with our other projects, so our last one was a few weeks before quarantine…

7. Where would you like to act?

It would be awesome to play inside a theatre, with different arrangements and guests musicians!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We’d be happy to share the stage with every band that wishes to play with us and have a beautiful time on it!  

9. Whom not?

Well, the only thing that would make us not want to play together with a band, would be the absence of dignity and humanism on behalf of the said band.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

There can always be a little stress before the show, but stage fright not really! Anyone beginning to play should just enjoy it! Think of it as a party and act accordingly - responsibly though, haha!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Since we were all “raised” musically during the ‘90s, the rock and metal influences of that period are subconsciously present in our music, although our personal preferences seem to differ between us! There’s a lot of good old prog rock for sure, but all the classics of metal world are there, too!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing we can think of, sorry!

13. What do you think of your fans? 

They obviously have a great taste in music, haha! Jokes aside, we thank each and every one that makes a journey though our album!

It’s well-build and well-written with interesting sections… keep up the good work!
