Interviews: PERFECT NME
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metal band, PERFECT NME, from Norway. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or
came out just like that?
The band name was actually taken from a line in an older song. We
liked the sound of it and just changed the spelling from "enemy" to
NME to make it stand out a bit more.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
We all grew up listening to rock and metal, so I think it was inevitable
that we drew on our musical inspirations and used that as a starting
point for our own sound.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Yes, several of the members have played together in various bands
over the years.
4. Each band member favourite band?
There are so many!
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
First and foremost it’s the drive to convey something to a larger
audience; an energy, a feeling or a musical concept. Lyrically a lot of
the songs are inspired by experiences, or something read.
6. Where was your last gig?
Kongsberg, Norway
7. Where would you like to act?
We’d love to take our music to a wider audience in Europe. The UK,
Italy and Germany are all on our list!!
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Obviously, we’d love to open for a larger band to get that added
exposure. Also festivals with many different acts would be great!
9. Whom not?
We’re open to playing with anyone. (That said, I’m not sure we’d pair
too well with an Electronica act, though!)
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for
beginners on how to beat that?
A lot of performers suffer from stage fright on occasion. And
a little bit is natural and can actually make you more focused!
What usually works best is to really know your material inside-out.
Practice until it becomes natural and you can perform it without
thinking too much about it. That will give you confidence and take a
lot of the pressure off the actual performance, and hopefully give you
more time to enjoy the experience.
Also, in the heat of the moment thorough warm-ups is a very useful
tool to feel comfortable and as prepared as your ever gonna be
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Too many to mention!!
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
A fan kept on contacting us wanting to buy the test pressings of the
album!
13. What do you think of your fans?
We have the best fans! They travel to our shows to support us and
really get into our music. They’re the main reason we do this. I know
that’s a pretty boring answer, but it’s the truth.
14. What do you think of our site?
We love it! It’s informative and presents us with new bands to get
into!
