Interviews: The Sunrise
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Hard Rock/Rock band, The Sunrise, from Italy. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or
came out just like that?
The name came out after a dinner with our friends, while,
talking about our lives walking on the sea-side, we saw the sun
coming out from the darkness of the night and we instantly
thought that our band must be called like that amazing thing out of
the black...The Sunrise.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
Because of in our city nobody have played it before and we
wanted to approach something new for us to manage and to
compare with the other bands and the other musical genres we
usually were listening to.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Of course we did! We all live in a small town and there is a lot
of musicians in there. In fact we had the opportunity to play
together in different contests before the creation of the band and
also meet ourselves during parties and events.
4. Each band member favourite band?
Wow! That’s for sure a good question! In fact we all listen to very
very different genres...
Giorgia (the singer) likes a lot 80’ iconic rock band and in
particular she loves the Kiss. Andrea (keyboards) comes from the
pro-rock genere and his favorite band is Genesis. Tommaso
(guitarist) on the other hand used to play and listen to metal core
music and he literally loves Architects. Simone (drums) is
probably the biggest fan in the world of Iron Maiden; at least
Giulio (bass) likes Blind Guardian.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
We used to be inspired by our day life; in our songs, especially
in Brand New Disorder, we have written an entire kind of story
based on our discomfort to live in the ordinary society where
people only want to prevail using violence and ignorance. In other
words it’s just a sort of picture that we make to our society.
6. Where was your last gig?
Our last gig, unfortunately, was before the lockdown in January,
inside our favorite pub in town, where we had the opportunity to
play not only for the audience, physically there, but also we were
broadcast live by two local radios.
7. Where would you like to act?
Another good issue...Realistically our ideal target should be to
play as opening band at some rock and metal festivals; because of
our will is to make the band better and to be known by more
people all around the world. If however we’ll let our imagination
run...we guess that play live at Royal Albert Hall in London could
be the best thing ever in our life.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
If we consider a collaboration with one singer, for example,
regarding also our kind of genre we think that work with Myles
Kennedy will be absolutely great! If there was the possibility,
instead, to work with another band for the realization of a song or
a live event it will be fantastic to jam with Tool.
9. Whom not?
Low blow hahahahahaha! Basically music is music and it’s a
universal langue made of very different genres and antipodes; We
are really open mind about it and we can only say that we
probably will not join someone too much far from our sphere.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for
beginners on how to beat that?
Who has not? Of course we all had, and it stills make us
shaking sometimes; but it is precisely this sensation of agitation
that transformed into energy allows us to unleash ourselves on
stage. For beginners our advice is to be really prepared on music
and on what they have to do, this makes it easier to manage.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Talking about Brand New Disorder we can affirm that our
inspiration comes from lots of different band, in particular we took
inspiration from bands like Metallica, Dream Theater, Iron Maiden
and for some reasons also Blink 182 for their energy and visceral
way to express their thought.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
The craziest thing that a fan has asked to us, it was to give him
the font and the drawing of our band logo to have it tattooed on
his arm.
13. What do you think of your fans?
Our fans are really important for us and we always ask for
opinions and advices to them because we make music not only for
our pleasure but mainly for them; so their opinion for us is crucial.
We thank to them all because if we are slowly reaching some
target it is thanks to them.
14. What do you think of our site?
Oh yeah guys you rock! Your website is awesome and it’s
fantastic to find this volume of artists all in the same place! We are
grateful to be part of it and we hope to see you again!
