Interviews: Chaoseum
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore band, Chaoseum, from Switzerland. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out
just like that?
We was looking for a original band name with only one word. A name which
corresponds to our image and which did not exist before during an internet
search. We use make-up inspired by horror movies and apply a theatrical
edge to our concerts. Chaoseum, welcome to the museum of chaos!
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
Everyone in the band listen a lot of metal bands. This music is also cool to
play. We wanted a style made for the stage and makes the public want to
move.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Loïc, Greg and I played together in a symphonic metal band called Elferya.
When we started Chaoseum in January 2018, we ask CK Smile to join us. That
was the first time I saw him but Loïc knew him. Unfortunately, he was so busy
and finally join us only in February 2019, after our first album.
4. Each band member favorite band?
I’m not sure for the others but for Greg, Korn and Epica. Loïc and CK, Korn or
Slipknot. My favorite band is Iron Maiden, since I discover the band in 1988.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Our favorite bands and our own experience. CK is very versatile on vocals,
which allows us to write some songs between Heavy metal, Nu metal and
metalcore style. We also try to write some songs for the stage because is our
first passion.
6. Where was your last gig?
That was a special show due to COVID 19. It was at Les Citrons Masqués in
Yverdon on August 15th. There, we played our first gig and we finished our
“First Tour In Hell” in the same place.
7. Where would you like to perform?
Everywhere, big or small places, because when we are on stage and with
metal fans, we are happy.
8. Whom would you like to perform with?
We was on tour with Tarja in Russia in 2019. Tarja and her band are really
nice , that was fantastic. I would like to be more on tour with them. Our futur
album is close to Korn style. Be on tour with them would be just perfect, but
is a little bit an impossible mission. And of course, my personal dream,
opening for Iron Maiden.
9. Whom not?
I would like to say, every artists who are too different from our kind of music
and don’t play metal or hard-rock. The main reason is by respect for the
public.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on
how to beat that?
No, but personally I’m a little bit anxious when the show start. I hope that we
will haven't technical problems. After 10 seconds, if everything is ok, I feel
good.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Bullet for my Valentine, Slipknot, Korn, Trivium, Bring Me The Horizon....
12. What do you think of your fans?
In Switzerland and France, we have some good fans and we saw them often,
but now they are not fans, they are friends. I also like a lot our Russian’s fans.
We keep in touch with them and some have also become friends despite the
distance.
13. What do you think of our site?
You have a lot of music genre, between rock and metal with a lot of interview
and I like it. It’s still interesting to hear about bands and their activity, life on
tour .....
14. Something to add?
Thank you for spending this time with me, it was a pleasure. I hope each
reader is well and their family too. Don’t lose the habit of going to a concert,
when that will be possible and take care.
