Interviews: SINSID

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Heavy Metal band, SINSID, from Norway. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

I remember when I left my previous band (Zeno Morf) back in 2009, thinking of new names that sounded cool, but either so many names were already used or it just sounded too cliche. Then I got the idea of combining my names together, I tried a few different version and ended up with SINSID, which is the frist 3 letter of my middle name and the first 3 letter in my last name. When I suggested it everyone they all thought it sounded cool, were easy to shout and had a meaning.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I grew up listening to bands such as Manowar, WASP, Twisted Sister, Kiss etc. So this is just natural for me as well as the rest of the band.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Some of us did. I knew Robin like 15 years before and he joined as soon as I had our name ready. Sten was a friend of Robin but we also had mutual firends so he joined early 2015. Even had just moved to Haugesund but I acually met him throu a freiend at Sweden Rock 2014 where he agreed to join, and then Greg who's actually from Poland, came in later at 2017/2018.

4. Each band member favorite band?

It's hard just to name one band, but we're all into different genres:

Terje: traditional heavy metal like Manowar, Maiden, WASP etc.

Sten: classic rock or metal like Deep Purple and Gary Moore.

Even: traditional heavy and doom, maybe Candlemass.

Robin: Prog metal like Opeth og Rush. Greg - Death metal 

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Several factors come in to play, it can be something that happens in real life, movies, traning, imagination or just trying to produce a catchy metal hymn. Then offcousre other bands we listen to also inspires a lot.

6. Where was your last gig?

Last gig we had was at Sandnes ( 2hour drive from Haugesund), after that we had a few dates that fell thru so we just focused on new songs for the album.

7. Where would you like to act?

Everywhere, hehe, well we definantly would like to perform in Europe and maybe US. It all depends on the situation......or stipulation.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Any band would be an honor, preferbly someone in the same genre but as long as we get the opportunity to perform live it really donsen't matte who were with.

9. Whom not?

Haha, it would have to be something with rap!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

No, well you should feel some nerves, but would not call it fright. I think most people who want to perform will adjust. Nothing to it but to do it😊

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Again, I can't name just one band, but my 5 favourites are WASP, Manowar, Twisted Sister, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

I don't think that question has come up yet.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Fans are just great and they are all entitled to their opinion, without them who are we, the performers?

14. What do you think of our site?

It's great, and I really like what you do for bands and the music in general.
