Behind The Artworks: The Reticent - The Oubliette (2020)

 

The cover art for the album is a recreation of William Utermohlen’s final self-portrait before he finally succumbed fully to Alzheimer’s Disease. The powerful and heartbreaking attempt by the famous artist and painter to do a self-portrait as his faculties were nearly completely depleted by the disease gives people a glimpse into the fractured and broken reality of Alzheimer’s sufferers. There is no image more apt to represent the message behind this new album.
