Interviews: Eshtadur

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Death Metal band, Esthadur, from Colombia. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

At the time I started the band with the first members, we were reading about this Greek autor, he named the rebellion of angels, as Eshtadur, and we decided to use that name.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

It is very special when you heard something really dark and obscure musically, things like Old Man´s Child, Dimmu borgir, Covenant, all these melodic black metal bands, turned particularily special.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

We met at the early ages of the band, Andres was in charged of the rehearsal rooms, and he played in another band named Souledge, after many years, he finally joined the band in 2019, and I met Alejo in 2016, he was supporting the band, he bought some merch and music, he entered the band in 2017. As you know, before 2016 it was a solo project, since I couldnt find an stable and solid line up thru the years.

4. Each band member favourite band?

I would say the guys love Satyricon, Morbid angel, King Diamond, Immolation, Entombed. I like a ot of Emperor, Hypocrisy...

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

I would say I get inspired by anything, a movie, a book, a personal experience, it has to be something deep that break you or motivates you beyond the common senses.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was in Medellin, Rio Negro, there was a metal fest, a friend of the band invited us, we spent great days over there.

7. Where would you like to act?

I have always dream to play at Wacken. 

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I would say Peter tagtgren and Ihsahn, Dan swano, Marko Hietala, Piotr from Vader.

9. Whom not? 

Really can´t think of someone not, ok, Phil Anselmo, no thanks.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Alejo did some acts regarding shy personality when he was a beginner, there is a funny story about him playing backwards, he didnt look at the people, so funny. But that´s all I think.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Emperor, Ihsahn, Hypocrisy, Amon Amarth.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Once in Mexico, we met a guy he was traveling the whole tour on his own, asisting to every gig in each city, at some moment, he asked us to get him in the van, because he has no longer how to transport, but we were full, there was no space, somehow we see him at the next city, haha very nice guy.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Ohh I think they are the best, we have few counted with my own hands, but they are pure loyal, ohh yeah.

14. What do you think of our site?

I like very much how you added also music that you can read and also other that you can hear, is pretty cool, furthermore, the writing is great.

15. Something add?
