Behind The Artworks: Oldblood - Arms To The Sky (2020)

Arms to the Sky. In any depiction of great tragedy there is always a hand raised in some form. Whether it be in prayer, in violence or requesting mercy. The act or raising one's arms can signify a great number of things and that's what we tried to envisage with the artwork. It's clear that it relates to the bombings on 6 and 9th August 1945 but what wete the people's final thoughts before it happened?
