Interviews; Cynic Cult

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Rock/Metal band, Cynic Cult from Ireland. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Tommy: Before it was the name of the band, it was the name of an older song that Shay had. Pure sarcasm led to it becoming the band name.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Shay: It's just pretty natural to us, to be honest. We are not really a part of any genre, we are not trying to fit in, we are just writing music that we like to make. 

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Shay: Yeah we have known each other for a good few years now. I saw Tommy play a show about nine or ten years ago and got in touch with him online afterwards, and we have got on well since.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Tommy: It is hard to pick just one, we usually give the same bands whenever we are asked this - Tool, Nine inch nails, a perfect circle, Devin Townsed, Karnivool, and there is a lot more than that too.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Shay: Inspiration can be found in anything, I think when you are younger you often tend to lean towards anger, or at least I did. But the older you get, and the more you learn and better equiped you become, you will find inspiration everywhere.

6. Where was your last gig?

Shay: I can't even remember it was that long ago.

7. Where would you like to perform?

Tommy: 3 Arena, bigger the better!

8. Whom would you like to perform with?

Tommy: Tool, Karnivool and Slipknot.

9. Whom not?

Shay: Is it too cliché to say Nickelback?

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Shay: Get good and comfortable with what you are playing, and the more you get out there, the easier it will be to shake the nerves. It is good to be a little nervous though.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Tommy: We'll have to give the same answer as our favourites.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Shay: Too weird to say here...

13. What do you think of your fans?

Tommy: We honestly appreciate and cherish any support we get.
