Interviews: DREAMERS CRIME

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metal/Rock band, DREAMERS CRIME from Australia. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

It started off with Simon and I brainstorming band names where we came up with a bunch of medicore names that were basically adjectives before nouns. Where we were in our lives people were throwing questions and comments at us like, “aren’t you too old to keep doing this?” or “why don’t you focus on your career?” It felt like it was a crime itself to be a dreamer. Thus Dreamers Crime was born. 

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

It happened because of our mutual love for rock and metal. It started with wanting to be our favourite rock stars, playing covers that we loved and the lifestyle and attitude. When we started writing, the genre came out naturally and just flowed.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I have known Simon since high school where we were in fact part of our first high school band together. Adam and I both teach at the same school and it was during a conference we got chatting about our mutual interest in music and things just took off from there. Felipe…no…but it feels like you do.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

Pete: Bon Jovi/Linkin Park

Simon: Led Zeppelin/Alter Bridge

Adam: Metallica/Karnivool

Felipe: Pearl Jam/Stone Sour

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

I’ve always been a guy who works better in a team. When I write music, I work best bouncing off the energy of those around me. Lyrically I dig deep and bring it all out. I’m here to tell everyone that everything will be ok. Just believe in yourself.

6. Where was your last gig?

Valentine’s Day 2020 at the Factory Theatre in Sydney, supporting the Linkin Park Tribute Band, Hybrid Theory (Portugal). Dude those guys are so good! You need to check them out if you haven’t. They do Linkin Park justice.

7. Where would you like to act?

Hollywood Bowl has always looked like a cool venue! Line it up

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

It would have been a dream with Linkin Park and Chester still with us

9. Whom not?

At the Hollywood Bowl? Or any gig in general? Hey a gig is a gig, music is music, and fans are fans right?

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Big crowds over small crowds any day! Can’t say I have suffered stage fright. My advice is to always be yourself and that if you’re nervous, look at the person next to you playing and remember that you’re in this together and that you have each other’s back.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Bon Jovi, Alter Bridge, 30 Seconds To Mars, Metallica, Linkin Park

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Marriage, and I was promised rice fields.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Without you guys we don’t exist. We are forever grateful and honoured that you play our music and we promise to continue doing this for as long as we can.

14. What do you think of our site?

I really dig the layout. I’ve never seen so many genres on one page. You can really break it down to the point where I have no idea what we are anymore hehe.
