Interviews: Storm The Empire

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Melodic Metalcore band, Storm The Empire from Canada. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

It started off as just something that we called ourselves not really thinking too much of it, but the longer we've been a band the more the concept of Unity worldwide becomes our main vision. Storm the Empire is a name we've grown into like a big pair of shoes, It's become our Identity.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Metal music is more than just a genre to us. The power that comes from the metal community, the music and the message are crucial to our love of this entity. Metal embraces the most wanted and sought after thing and that is Unity. Metal music unites people from all different walks of life, and no one (except the elitists) judges one another for their choice in looks, beliefs and lifestyle.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Robb and Norm have known each other for 25 years prior to forming. Dale found Jake and Norm after moving to Canada from the UK. Robb and Dale met at work and that was the beginning of Storm the Empire.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Norm: Lamb of God 

Dale: Dorje 

Robb: While she Sleeps 

Jake: Black Sabbath 

Andy: Mars Volta

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Our experiences, struggles and the problems we see in the world.

6. Where was your last gig? Opening up for Bison BC at Munnins in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. Shout out to Munnins for always supporting local artists!

7. Where would you like to play?

Everywhere, we'd love to see the world through our music.

8. Who would you like to support?

While she sleeps, Of mice & men, Upon a burning body, Jinjer and A ghost inside.

9. Who not?

Donald Trump

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I think everyone of us has at one time or another. Our advice is to just not give a **** what people think, and focus on your dream; that's all that really matters.

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

Robb : While she Sleeps 

Dale: Bring me the Horizon 

Jake: Black Sabbath 

Norm: Lamb of God 

Andy: Botch

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Andy: Someone asked me for my snare drum once..

Dale: Someone asked me to give a ride to Scotland.

Robb: It wasn't asked for, but I woke up with someone outside my window calling me god....

Jake: Some chick asked me to go out with her, two years later she won't leave. 

Norm: A guy asked if I wanted a BJ after a show... it was the most uncomfortable 10 seconds of my life..

13. What do you think of your fans?

Where do we even begin... They are the blood in our veins, the force that drives us to continue our journey. We wouldn't be anything without them, and for that we are forever grateful.

14. What do you think of our site?

We love and respect what you do, love the fact that you appeal to a vast demographic of metalheads.
