Interviews: Ventruss

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Hard Rock/Metal band, Ventruss from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, was it planned or came out just like that?

Ventuss: The band's name is derived from Ventress, Louisiana where the band was formed back in 2012. We added a "U" just to differentiate and make it our own thing.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Ventruss: It's what we grew up on. It's the genre we all resonated with throughout our lives. The energy is like no other.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Ventuss: Nope. Not at all. We all know each other through this band. Ben and Shawn have been in since 2012, BJ in 2016, and Jesse in 2017.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

Ben: Pantera and Love and Death. Pantera all time with Love and Death being my favorite modern band.

Shawn: Avenged Sevenfold. Just my biggest influence all the way around

Jesse: Toss up between Periphery and Dream Theater.

BJ: Led Zeppelin. Undoubtedly

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Ventruss: All of our favorite bands first and foremost and whatever hits our ear/eyes and inspires us. There's a lot of murky sights, sounds, and smells in Louisiana that keep us on the dirty and heavy side.

6. Where was your last gig?

Ventruss: Shawnee, Kansas right out side of Kansas City. It was for our friend Steven Seuferlings's birthday show as well as a memorial to Kansas City legend Bill Westfall. It was snowing and cold as fuck. Definitely not what we are used to in the deep south.

7. Where would you like to perform?

Ventruss: Anywhere and Everywhere! We aren't picky. But a few that stand out to us would be The Machine Shop in Flint, Michigan, The Whiskey A Go Go in LA, Gramercy Theatre New York, Chicago, Cleveland... I can go on and on. Just put us in a van and get us a show anywhere! We'll play in Delaware for all we care. Wherever there's people wanting jam with us.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Ventruss: Oooooh. Good one. Let's See.. Jonny from Nothing More, Elijah from Cane Hill, Josh from Tetrarch, Waylon from A Killer's Confession, Paul from 12 Stones, David from Disturbed, Hyro The Hero. Literally, anyone who fits the right sound. Those are just a few off the dome

9. Who not?

Ventruss: Uhhh... Cardi B, Bhad Bhabie, literally anyone who's music sounds like dumpster fire. We don't want any part of that shit.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Ventruss: Yeah many years back. The best thing we can say is everyone has and will continue to have embarrassing moments on stage. It's not about those, it's how you recover from those.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Ventruss: Pantera, Lamb of God, Periphery, Gojira, Trivium, Sevendust, Bullet for My Valentine, Led Zeppelin, Love and Death, Linkin Park, the list goes on and on. 

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Ben: Hmm... we had this fan in South Carolina who was harassing venues trying to book us and harassed us asking us to be easier to reach. It was wild haha. 

13. What do you think of your fans?

Ventruss: We LOVE our fans. We live to meet our fans and give them everything we can.

14. What do you think of our site?
