Band Biographies: Decline The Fall

A relentless and unmatched work ethic has propelled Decline The Fall to the forefront of Malta’s music scene and the band now stands poised to export their blend of juggernaut metalcore to the eager ears of metalheads abroad.

Decline The Fall’s string of successes since forming in 2015 is merely a glimpse of what the five-piece band has to offer. Following the release of their debut album Our Own Demise, Decline The Fall are ready to explode on the international scene and descend onto the metalcore world with their compelling and refreshing music.

Such was the case with the release of their first single, Nemesis - a gut-punching, melodic track - which has amassed over 70,000 views on YouTube alone - a feat unheard for any Maltese metal band. “Maltese metal band Decline the Fall put the ‘Good’ in ‘Good Friday’ this year, filling local metalheads’ homes with their signature melodic, ethereal, yet heavy and powerful tunes, thanks to the release of their new music video for Nemesis,” - Lovin Malta.

Numbers alone are an indication of the prowess and raw talent that Decline The Fall possess but what they don’t communicate is the blood, sweat and tears along with an undying passion for music that has fueled the band thus far.

Decline The Fall are Fabio Negro, Kris Farrugia, Ehren Fenech, John ‘Castiel’ Gatt and Matthew ‘BomBom’ Mercieca but calling them band members doesn’t do them justice, this is a brotherhood. When it was time to step up to the plate, Decline The Fall rose. Collectively the five-piece are a force to be reckoned with and in 2017 showed the world what they are made of by playing alongside genre legends like Mayhem, Rotting Christ and, most notably, Lacuna Coil. This was followed by their first invite in 2019 to perform at the well-known Hills of Rock Festival in Plovdiv, Bulgaria with over 50,000 attendees.

Their electric live performances have left international crowds hungry for more...and Decline The Fall are just about ready to deliver a king-sized plate of metal madness.

“The band enters a new phase in their musical journey, venturing into uncharted territories with a full LP, but with an arsenal of confidence, calloused by years of experience to guide them along the way,” - MALTACORE Music. As the world sits in silence in the wake of a global pandemic, Decline The Fall have put their heads down and are gearing up for a triumphant and magnificent return to the music scene. Their debut Our Own Demise has been received with praises, both locally and internationally.
This is just the beginning. This is Decline The Fall.
