Behind The Artworks: THOUGHTCRIME - THOUGHTCRIME (2021)

We were inspired by a NYT article about mind control in China that had an image of a giant hand clutching a brain. We thought it was a cool concept and fit the band name well, so we took it and ran with it. We wanted the brain to be more realistic and we made the hand clutching the brain a "business man's" hand (hence the suit sleeve) to give the impression that it's the hand of "the man" - whether that be big brother, the government, or a large corporation. To us, it symbolizes how the rich and powerful exploit and manipulate the minds of the masses.
