Interviews: Immerser
We have had the opportunity to interview the Hard Rock solo project Immerser from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
The definition of Immerser - is One who immerses, as for example one who carries out baptism by
immersion. (psychology) A person who tends to immerse themselves in things, becoming deeply
involved. I Like the idea of immersing people into the music I create. Whether it’s an experience or a
feeling I try to pull a listener in. I also like the idea of baptizing someone with music, listening to a song
can really be an initiatic experience if you let it. I am also very fond of Saint John the Baptist otherwise
known as Saint John the Immerser, so naming my project Immerser just made sense to me! Immerser
just feels right.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
I don’t think I really have a choice. Hard Rock music is just the way my soul expresses itself musically. I
love all styles of music and can write in multiple genres; I just find that heavier music suits me.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
This is a solo project so it's just me, myself, and I.
4. what’s your favorite band?
It's difficult for me to pick just one! But if I had to, I would choose David Bowie.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
I tend to write more when I’m upset or angry, its easier for me to get creative when I’m feeling
emotional, I guess. Love is also a catalyst for me as well. But my emotions are the inspiration.
6. Where was your last gig?
San Carlos California!
7. Where would you like to act?
I am not actively looking to perform live now. I really am just enjoying the writing and releasing process.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
I would love to play a show with Gemini Syndrome or Violent idols!
9. Whom not?
I don’t know anyone I would not like to perform with.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
I used to suffer from stage fright, especially for the first song of the set but then it passes. I used to look
at the floor or just focus looking at the back wall of the venue until the feeling passed.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Pantera, David Bowie, Nirvana, In this Moment, Nine Inch Nails, Beethoven.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
The weirdest was probably someone asked me for drugs. I guess some people assume all musicians use
drugs. I don’t!
13. What do you think of your fans?
They swell.
14. What do you think of our site?
It’s awesome!
