Interviews: Traverse The Abyss

We have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore band Traverse The Abyss from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We got the band name from the video game Dark Souls, just kinda came together & was right.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We all enjoyed Heavy music since we were young & the intensity called to us.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yeah, for the most part, we played in bands prior to Traverse the Abyss. Our bassist Bnoc & me (Eric) have known each other since grade school.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Eric - Slipknot

Mike - Trivium

Dave - The Devil Wears Prada

Jamie - Within the Ruins

Bnoc - Whitechapel

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Life events, the ups & downs of the roller coaster that is life.

6. Where was your last gig?

8/21/21 @ Finnegans in Scranton, PA

7. Where would you like to act?

Would like to go to Europe & Australia.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Corey Taylor or Matt Heafy would be epic.

9. Whom not?

None I can think of.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Not really, as soon as the music kicks on it's like a switch in the brain. Just feels right.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Slipknot, Trivium, The Devil Wears Prada to name a few.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Not so much us getting asked weird stuff as opposed to strange stuff just happening when we are around.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We love them, they make everything worthwhile.
