Band Biographies: Visionoir
Visionoir is a solo project founded in 1998 by the musician Alessandro Sicur. He made his debut with this monicker shortly after with an EP entitled "Through the Inner Gate", then took a break for a few years. Visionoir over the years went on writing and archiving new material and between 2015 and 2017 the first full-length album "The Waving Flame of Oblivion" (2017) finally took shape. This record moves between progressive rock and avantgarde metal and sees the inclusion of sampled voices leading the narrative thread (with poems by TS Eliot, Ezra Pound, Antonin Artaud and Dylan Thomas). In 2018 Visionoir gets back in his studio to write and record his second album. The renewed sound is much heavier and more focused than before, with an even more decisive impact OF the guitar riffing, despite the spacey keyboards remaining a trademark. This new record, alongside tracks with sampled narration, features the crucial collaboration of two vocal guests: Fabio Vogrig (Handful of Dust, Noioc, End of Eternity ) and Alessandro Seravalle, an authentic institution of the progressive scene since the 90s with his band Garden Wall.
