Behind The Artworks: Athemon - Athemon (2021)

Athemon, the band's name, came from the surname of a butterfly found in the Amazon rainforest, Dynamine-Athemon.

Therefore we wanted to use an art cover that could represents a parallel between the complex process of transformation of a butterfly, with the complex process of consciousness evolution of us, human beings.

On Athemon’s self-titled album, the music represents the process of self-perception from our character, and on the art cover the concept above is represented by the hand of a female human being, who gently supports the insect already in the shape of a butterfly, showing thus the ability we all have to evolve emotionally.

It’s from the utero towards an evolved grown-up mind concept.
