Interviews: Archives

We have had the opportunity to interview the  Metalcore/Beatdown band Archives from the UK. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The name in all honesty is a bit of a joke, at the time we were starting this project and really struggling to get a name we were aware of old demos we had recorded with our producer so we reached out to see if he still had the projects and his response was “they’re lost in the Archives” which we instantly all looked at each other and decided on the name. I wish there was a more poetic story really.. shout out to Josh Robinson at JSR Audio for that one!

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I guess I just always grew up listening to the more aggressive side of music ya know? Too much angst in my youth.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We all grew up pretty much within the same music scene watching each other’s bands playing in crappy little local bars in our small towns. It was meant to be!

4. Each band member favourite band?

Adam: Varials

Stewart: a combination of Fightstar & Bury tomorrow

Daryl: August burns red

Sal: Killswitch engage

Paul: Invent animate

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

In all honesty, I would say it’s just the everyday trials and tribulations of life most of the time, I’m quite autobiographical. Also, I write quite a lot about other people’s stories (from books, etc)

6. Where was your last gig?

As a member of the crowd: bring me the horizon O2 arena Playing myself: Fibber magees Dublin, 2018 /19

7. Where would you like to play?

Australia, for sure!

8. Who would you like to support?

Coldplay …… just to ruin people’s night.

9. Who not?

I’d play with anyone really just for the experience regardless if I like them or not! 

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Just live within that feeling it is a good feeling. Life begins at the end of your comfort zone!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Parkway Drive & While she sleeps simply for their DIY attitude!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Can I keep your hat? Hell no!

Really good to see something like this supporting and uplifting up-and-coming music.
