Interviews: Thirty Fates
We have had the opportunity to interview the Heavy Metal band Thirty Fates from Greece. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
With the decision of making an anniversary album and existing for thirty years in the metal community, we turned Black Fate to Thirty Fates.
As simple as it sounds and straight to the point
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
We didn’t make it on purpose, this happened from our influences for sure.
From our very beginning till now we just playing metal, without focusing on a specific genre.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
We all met at school at a young age, with the same interests and influences.
4. Each band member favourite band?
Of course, the classics are common for all of us like Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Ronnie Dio and individually Queensryche, Psychotic Waltz, Conception, Fates Warning, King Diamond, Rush, Soundgarden, Arch Enemy.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Our inspiration is mostly around things happening to us and how we react to those things.
Each song represents a personal situation dressed with an allegorical approach.
6. Where was your last gig?
As we are a quite old lineup with an anniversary album now, we haven’t played our music for a long time in front of a crowd but only when we were rehearsing or jamming with friends.
It is almost like a start from the dark.
7. Where would you like to act?
We would love to perform anywhere in the world.
It would be interesting to meet people from around the globe.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Hmm, that’s an interesting question, as they are a lot.
It could be a great idea & a wish also, supporting Ozzy, Metallica, Ghost, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Fates Warning.
Hope this will become true someday.
9. Whom not?
For sure we don’t like to share the stage with artists like Justin Bieber, Cardy b (lol).
In general, when someone is into metal is a pleasure to share the stage with him.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Not actually.
For sure there is this feeling of anxiety and agony before coming up on stage, but this happens before the hitting of the first note.
When you are blessed to play and share your music with a crowd, there is the only thing that can go wrong: no reaction from the crowd.
If you see people moving and headbanging, then you are doing it right.
If you are still hanging with anxiety have a couple of beers and let the gig happen.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Depending on the decade.
When we first start playing, we were listening to Ozzy, Ronnie Dio, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and later we found the progressive style interesting with bands like, Psychotic Waltz, Rush, Dream Theater, Queensryche, Watchtower etc.
In the 90’s and with this all-grunge thing that happened at that time, bands like Soundgarden, Alice in Chains were for sure interesting for us and we admit that in some way we also get influenced by them.
The millennium till today we have plenty of bands that we like and for sure we are trying to adapt this new sound combining it with our style.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
While playing on stage, our singer stage dived, but a guy didn’t let him go back on stage saying: let the guys play the music I know them, and I won’t let you destroy the gig…
It was a mess..
13. What do you think of your fans?
We got surprised when we announced our anniversary album. Fans from day one, of the Black Fate’s era got very exited for that reunion and messages starts to arrive from everywhere.
We couldn’t believe what was happening.
Another funny thing with the release of Just for a little, we start to have positive feedback from unknown people around the world.
That was unexpected.
At this point we would like to thank old and new fans for their support and their love.
14. What do you think of our site?
You are doing a really good job guys by introducing great bands to the people.
Thank you for all this staff you did for us wishing you our best.
Keep doing this great job.
15. Something to add?
For all you metalheads around the globe, keep the metal flame alive.
Thank you for supporting our music
.. and for the people that didn’t hit the link yet, it is worth a listen.
Thank you.
