Interviews: SHIZZURA
We have had the opportunity to interview the Heavy Metal band SHIZZURA from Germany. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, did you plan it or did it come out just like that?
We tried to create a name that represents our Japanese influence but doesn’t have any meaning. There’s nothing
worse than being put in a stylistic drawer and we wanted to avoid that.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
We grew up with Nu Metal and Japanese Rock/Metal and we wanted to merge those styles so we can create our
own, unique sound.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Partially - Karumo and Yukko have known each other for many years. Tetsu came to Shizzura through other
bands/projects and we also met Ryō trough another project of Karumo.
4. Each band member favourite band?
Karumo: HIM
Ryō: Alice In Chains
Yukko: System Of A Down
Tetsu: D’espairs Ray
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Social criticism, emotions, zeitgeist, personal struggle. Our lyrics are very close to us and individual.
6. Where was your last gig?
Our last gig was in March of 2014 due to a few line-up changes. It’s been some time but we are eager to return to
playing live in front of people and can’t wait to show our progress.
7. Where would you like to act?
Anywhere!
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Apocalyptica, KoRn, Dir En Grey; pretty much any of our musical influences.
9. Whom not?
Anything with a rightwing political view.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Of course! Everyone of us has/had stage fright. The only tip we can give is: Just go for it. There are many factors
involved: who you’re playing with, how much you trust them, how prepared are you, etc. Try to prepare yourself as
best as you can do your thing.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Just a few examples: KoRn, MUCC, Dir En Grey, lynch., System Of A Down, Trivium, D’espairs Ray
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
We once got asked if we would like to be drawn. That wasn’t exactly weird but more humbling.
13. What do you think of your fans?
We appreciate you more than you think! Each and everyone of you!
14. What do you think of our site?
You guys have an amazing website! There’s always something new to explore. Searching and enjoying new music
is very important to us, so sites like yours are very helpful and important to the scene.
15. Something to add?
Are you looking for something different? Listen to us.
