Interviews: Atrox Trauma

We have had the opportunity to interview the Thrash Metal band Atrox Trauma from Hungary. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or come out just like that? 

First, we wanted a single word for the band name and it was Trauma. But after a little research, we found out that there are already some metal bands with this name. So we put the word Atrox before it which means terrible.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We were in love with this genre (thrash/death) for years so it was quite trivial for us. We always loved Sepultura, Kreator, Soulfly and much more bands like them. 

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

Imi, Gergő and Gyula were already know each other, they live in the same town (or at least near to each other) but András is from another city so he met with the guys when the band was formed.

4. Each band member favourite band? 

Imi: Sepultura, Soulfly, Kreator, Iron Maiden, Helloween, Manowar, CPg (Hungarian punk legends)

Gergő: Slayer, Kreator, Testament, Death, Obscura, Behemoth, Amon Amarth, Ensiferum, Iron Maiden.

Gyula: Kataklysm, Sepultura, Slayer, Slipknot, Ramones

András: Soulfly, Amon Amarth

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

The inspiration can come from a good movie or a book. An interesting talk with someone. A good song or a good band. And these all together.

6. Where was your last gig? 

It was in Budapest, Hungary. It was a great gig with great guys from other bands.

7. Where would you like to act?

Everywhere. It’s a pity that this year we had much less shows than the past years so we are happy to play anywhere. But in the future we’d like to play at big festivals and tours abroad.

8. Whom would you like to feature with? 

Of course with our favourite big names but there are a lot of great metal bands all around the world.

9. Whom not? 

Maybe with unfriendly and arrogant people. But luckily there’s not much of them.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that? 

Imre: Sometimes I have stage-fright but it always stops after the first songs. 

András: Yes. When we don’t play live for a long time before a gig, I have some stress in me under the first 2-3 songs. But I get over it when I can concentrate on the music and the people at the party.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Sepultura, Kreator, Soulfly, Slayer, Amon Amarth ....

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

Gergő: When they asked me to give a signature on their arms or chest.

András: There was a show when a girl came to me between two songs to ask me if I can give her one piece of my hair. That was weird.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are our friends. We always love to see them at our shows and try to give them our best on the stage. Their support means a lot to us.

14. What do you think of our site?

It’s cool that we can watch timely news around the world. The searching by countries option is great too. It can be useful for bands who are thinking about touring abroad to get supports or just get in touch with someone.
