Interviews: Losing Daylight

We have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore band Losing Daylight from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or come out just like that?

We had a different name when we first got together but ended up scrapping it when our guitarist, Josh, saw a documentary and happened to hear them say “Losing Daylight”. We were ecstatic when he mentioned it as a song name, but would better suit us as a band name.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We chose this genre because it comes naturally to us and we love the energy it produces.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Josh and Panama knew each other through a mutual job they both had years ago. Matt knew Panama from playing shows with his previous band, Evergreen Terrace, while Panama was the drummer. Ryan met Matt through mutual friends and he also used to cut Ryan’s hair when he was a barber.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Matt - Deftones

Panama - BMTH

Ryan - Deftones/TOOL

Josh - Pantera

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Good vibes and hours of jamming inspire all our music. If the vibe is off or it feels contrived, we throw it out.

6. Where was your last gig?

The last gig was at Raindogs in Jacksonville, Florida.

7. Where would you like to act?

Anywhere that likes to see a fuckin performance!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

8: Slipknot, Killswitch Engage, Rob Zombie 

9. Whom not?

Lana Del Ray hahaha 

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Matt has had stage fright. “Just fuckin do it and do everything on stage with confidence and purpose and it just melts away” says Matt. 

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Poison The Well, Deftones, Bring Me the Horizon, NIN, Slipknot and Pantera. 

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

An autograph 

13. What do you think of your fans?

We LOVE our fans and love their support!! They make our music complete and make our shows so much fun!!
